The Design Story

Miller took the compartment lunch box of Japan, Taiwan and Korea as his starting point and turned it into a tray that frames whatever you put in it. Miller, an architect and designer based in Los Angeles, took the bento box, the compartment lunch box of Japan, Taiwan and Korea, and turned it into a deep-sided tray that organizes and displays. The wooden ABENTO trays took Gold at the German Design Award 2022.

Inspired by the bento box, ABENTO gives small things a frame: a tray that turns clutter into a composition.
