The Story Behind Toulemonde Bochart

Toulemonde Bochart is a Parisian rug house that works with a circle of French designers, architects and artists, with craftsmanship perpetuated since 1949. Each rug is drawn in Paris and then made by hand, so the design comes first and the craft carries it out with care. Every rug is certified by GoodWeave, an international certification founded by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi. It guarantees that no child labor is used in the production chain and supports social and educational programs in the regions where the rugs are made.

The Designer: Reda Amalou

Trained in England, architect Reda Amalou applies his talents through the AW2 agency in Paris and Vietnam, the latter serving as a base for his numerous projects across Asia. Experienced with both public and private projects, he knows how to create unique atmospheres.

Fragment has free-form contours and mineral hues that evoke an imprint, a fluid gesture captured in matter. It was conceived by architect Réda Amalou, in tussah silk and wool.

Fragment is hand-tufted in 60% Viscose 40% Wool, with a density of 62120 knots per square meter. Toulemonde Bochart rugs are created in Paris, made by hand and certified GoodWeave.
