For Carmine Deganello, a lamp begins with a material and an experiment. Based in Amsterdam and Milan, he has worked with Pablo for years, and his designs have been exhibited at Milan’s Triennale Design Museum and Vienna’s MAK. Founder Pablo Pardo shaped the concept with the team. The Pablo Studio, the brand’s in-house team in San Francisco, engineered and refined it.

The Design Story
Pablo Pardo founded Pablo Designs in San Francisco in 1993; Uma was created with Milan-based designer Carmine Deganello, an experimental product and architectural designer known for his research into materials. The idea was primal: the lantern and the campfire, the places people have always gathered. Uma fuses warm LED light with 360° sound in one elegant object, and Uma Mini, the newest member of the family, makes it small enough to take anywhere.
