What is the Bolt designed to do?
Sean Lavin designed it so that it is a neat little cylinder that turns and tilts to throw focused light. In white, it all but vanishes against the ceiling.
Which Bolt finish works with my palette?
Satin nickel or white: pick the one your rail and other hardware already wear.
Can the Bolt light artwork or a display?
Yes, that is what it is for: it rotates 360° and pivots 90°, so the beam lands where you want it.
Does the Bolt come with a bulb?
No. It takes an MR16 lamp, which you choose separately (up to 50 watts).
Will the Bolt work on my existing rail?
If it is Visual Comfort FreeJack or MonoRail, yes — order the matching version. Ordinary H-, J- or L-type track is a different standard.
Can I dim the Bolt?
Yes, with a low-voltage dimmer chosen to suit the system's transformer.
What else do I need to order with the Bolt?
A lamp, plus the rest of the system it mounts on: rail or a FreeJack port, supports, a power feed and a 12V transformer. The Monopoint version only needs a junction box.
How soon can the Bolt arrive?
