The Design Story
Antoni Arola, a Spanish National Design Prize winner, created the Cirio family for Santa & Cole in 2010, inspired by ceremonial candles. Each module is a straight row of five Cirio lights; modules join end to end, so Cirio Lineal 1 uses one module. Each light pairs an LED capsule with a handmade shade.
Why You’ll Love It
The shade sets the mood. Handmade Sargadelos white porcelain gives a diffuse, very warm, slightly amber light; white opal glass is the brightest and most efficient; polished brass sends focused, directional light down. All three run on built-in LEDs at 2700K with CRI 90, rated for 40,000 hours.
Made for Real Life
It mounts to a junction box with a rectangular canopy that houses the driver. The drop adjusts from 35.4 to 196.9 inches. It dims with a 1-10V dimmer, which is not included, so plan it with your electrician. UL-1598/UL-8750 listed for dry and damp locations. Wipe with a soft, smooth cloth; skip ammonia, solvents and abrasive cleaners (Santa & Cole’s care advice).
