The Design Story

Aleksej Iskos, a graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts who co-founded Iskos-Berlin in 2010 and opened his own studio, Iskos Design, in 2018, took the idea for Mollis from everyday knitwear. The construction is deliberately simple and uses very little material: one knitted shade slipped over a metal frame.

Why You’ll Love It

It looks soft and architectural at the same time, like a small dome rendered in yarn. The light lands where you need it, on the table below, while the knit glows gently around it. Because the shade comes off, it can be washed or swapped instead of replacing the whole lamp. It suits calm, pared-back rooms that need a little texture.

Made for Real Life

Plan on a licensed electrician: the fixture connects to a ceiling junction box and is finished with its canopy. Our tip for the knit: switch it off and dust it now and then; dab small marks gently with a damp, lint-free cloth.
