Ilo is a long horizontal LED pendant, a slender bar of anodized satin bronze that is 75 in (190 cm) end to end, designed in 2019 by David Lopez Quincoces for Oluce.
It comes in one finish: anodized satin bronze bar with a matt black terminal, canopy and cable.
The Design Story
Oluce, founded in Milan in 1945, describes Ilo as a lamp with architectural references and exceptionally clean lines, an object whose quiet decorative spirit and fine finishes suit many settings and styles. The bar is divided into two parts by color. The first part gives the effect of a handle, and the second holds the long LED source. Its generous size sits in harmonious contrast with its slim profile.
The Story
Ilo is a family of LED lamps by Quincoces that shares one slender aluminium bar made with precision mechanics. The horizontal pendant is the long, suspended version.
The Designers
David Lopez Quincoces was born in Madrid in 1980. He graduated in Art from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2004 and earned a master’s degree in Interior Design at the Politecnico di Milano. He has lived in Milan since 2005 and has worked with Piero Lissoni on showrooms, exhibition stands, private apartments, offices, hotels and resorts. In 2007 he set up his own firm, Quincoces-Dragò & partners, based in Madrid and Milan, and in 2016 he opened Six Gallery in Milan, which deals in classic pieces and limited editions. His clients include Dr.Smood, Lema, Trussardi, Potocco, Brera and Living Divani.
“Ilo’s architectural references and clean lines are the perfect counterbalance to its subtle decorative spirit.”

How It Was Made
The structure is an aluminium rod, anodized in satin bronze. The terminal, the canopy and the cable are matt black. The LED source runs along the second part of the bar and gives direct light, and a separate control gear unit powers it.
Awards and Recognition
Ilo won the Archiproducts Design Awards in 2019.

Why You’ll Love It
Ilo draws a single line of warm light across a dining table, a kitchen island or a long console. The slim bar takes up little visual space, and the bronze and black finish reads as architectural rather than decorative. It works hung alone or in pairs.
Made for Real Life
The 25W LED is built in, so there is no bulb to replace. It gives 2750 lumens at 2700K with a CRI above 85. Oluce lists the LED as dimmable, and the technical sheet does not name the dimming method, so check it with your electrician before choosing a dimmer. Wipe the bar with a soft dry cloth and skip abrasive or solvent cleaners.
