Alba 468 is a pendant light with two blown glass spheres on square-section metal arms, designed by Mariana Pellegrino Soto for Oluce.

The Design Story
Oluce, founded in Milan in 1945, built the Alba family around a drop of water, which the designer puts to use in different ways depending on the model. Soft shapes from nature meet square lines and a satin brass finish, and the family has a strong visual impact. In the 468 pendant two glass solids hang from a metal support, so the pair reads like two drops at different heights.
The Designers
Mariana Pellegrino Soto grew up in Caracas and studied product design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. Her thesis project was developed together with Oluce, which led to her work for the company. In 2016 she won the Best Packaging Award at the Global Bottled Water Awards for a bottle design. She now works at F&N Compositi.

How It Was Made
Oluce makes the Alba 468 in Italy from metal and blown glass. The glass gives a diffused light, and the metal is finished in satin brass or anodic bronze.

Made for Real Life
The light takes two E26 bulbs up to 75W each. The bulbs are not included, so choose the warmth and brightness you prefer. The lamp is not dimmable and is UL rated for use in the US. Dust the glass and metal with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive or solvent cleaners.
