Pablo Studio is a tight-knit San Francisco team that picks one idea, refines it and strips it down to its essence. Their goal: objects that feel personal and a little surprising every time you use them.
The Design Story
Swell comes from Pablo Studio, the small San Francisco team of makers and inventors behind Pablo Designs, founded by Venezuelan-born industrial designer Pablo Pardo in 1993. Swell was conceived to blur the line between indoor and outdoor lighting: elegant, undulating spun-aluminum shades with a radiant brass interior, rated for damp locations, that can hang alone, cluster as a chandelier or string together in long modular runs.

Is this a good starter set?
Yes. It includes the power feed, canopy, three vertical mounting cables and three shades.
What are the shade sizes?
Pablo’s String sheet lists none, so these are the same-named Swell Single rows: Narrow 12 in × 20 in, Medium 18 in × 17 in, Wide 24 in × 14 in.
What light color is it?
3000K, fixed, on Pablo’s sheet. It does not shift warmer as it dims, and the EU lamp on the sheet is 2700K.
How many lamps can I add?
Up to 34 interconnected lamps per source; the horizontal kit supports 12.
Who is it not for?
It is hardwired, so it needs an electrician. It is damp rated with no wet rating, so not for wet locations, and not for anyone wanting dim-to-warm.
