Pablo Studio is a tight-knit San Francisco team that picks one idea, refines it and strips it down to its essence. Their goal: objects that feel personal and a little surprising every time you use them.
The Design Story
Sky was designed by Pablo Studio, the in-house design team at Pablo Designs in San Francisco. They conceived it as a modular pendant system built around one remarkable light engine, Sky Solo: a slim, CNC-machined aluminum lamp with a two-sided LED that sends glare-free light down through a flat panel and up to the ceiling at the same time. Add a spun-metal dome, a pressed-wood dome or an acoustic felt disc and the same lamp becomes a completely different light. Sky Dome was recognized with a 2020 IDA Silver Award, a 2020 Metropolis Likes Award and as a 2020 NYCxDESIGN Honoree.
Why You’ll Love It
It almost disappears when off, then fills a room with soft, even light when on, and the uplight makes ceilings feel higher. As you dim it, the light glows warmer, from 2700K down to 2200K, like a halogen or candle.
Made for Real Life
Hardwired, ELV dimmer recommended, 50,000-hour LED. The 10 ft (3 m) braided cable is field-cuttable, so you set the drop on site.

How many over an island?
Two or three, depending on length.
Can I add a shade later?
The Sky Solo light engine is the same one used in Sky Dome and Sky Sound.
How warm does the light get?
It runs from 2700K at full brightness down to 2200K as you dim, so the glow turns warmer and softer.
Which dimmer?
ELV is recommended; TRIAC/ELV dimmers are compatible, and 0–10V is available on request.
Can I shorten the cable?
Yes. The 10 ft (3 m) cable is field-cuttable to the drop you want.
Who is it not for?
It needs hardwiring to a ceiling junction box, so it is not a plug-in lamp, and the spec sheet lists no wet or outdoor rating, so keep it indoors.
