The Design Story
Cortina is architectural simplicity from Pablo Designs, the San Francisco studio Pablo Pardo founded in 1993. A stoic clear cylinder surrounds a translucent mesh fabric diffuser, which shields and softens the light inside. The effect is a glowing column that seems to float within its clear shell, solid and weightless at once.

Which Cortina size should you choose?
48 inches suits a lounge chair or smaller living area. 60 inches is the balanced choice beside sofas and in open-plan spaces. 72 inches makes an architectural statement in lofts, big living rooms and commercial interiors.
Why does Cortina look like it floats?
The mesh diffuser glows inside a clear shell.
Is it dimmable, and does the color change?
Yes, with an in-line rotary dimmer. Pablo specifies 3000K GU10 lamps, so the color stays at 3000K as it dims.
Does it light a room?
It gives soft ambient light: 480 lumens from each of its two lamps.
Is there a table version?
Yes, the 24-inch Cortina.
Who is it not for?
Anyone who wants dim-to-warm light or a bright reading lamp. Pablo lists no damp or wet rating.
