Pablo Pardo
Raised among artists and engineers in Venezuela, Pablo Pardo builds lights that are sparse, useful and quietly clever. He opened his San Francisco studio in 1993 and still leads it; his work has collected honors from ICFF, NeoCon, Interior Design, Red Dot and the German Design Award, and a piece of his sits in the SFMOMA collection.
The Design Story
Pablo Pardo founded Pablo Designs in San Francisco in 1993 to create light that fosters harmony between people and their spaces. Bel Occhio, Italian for beautiful eye, evokes nature’s transformative light. A suspended inner column creates focused illumination while the surrounding clear shell produces a soft ambient glow, so the pendant reads as both a spotlight and a source of atmosphere.

A single sphere is a quiet sculpture; a group is a constellation. The warm 2700K, 90 CRI light flatters food, art and skin tones, and the clear shell keeps the fixture almost invisible when it is off.
Made for Real Life
Hardwired and fully dimmable with TRIAC/ELV dimmers (DALI available from Pablo on request). It uses one standard 8 W LED BT-15 bulb with an E26 medium base. Have a licensed electrician install it. Several pendants can share one multi-point canopy.

What bulb does it use
One 8 W LED BT-15 bulb with an E26 medium base, rated 2700K and 800 lm.
Can I change the light color
No. The light is 2700K warm white. You can dim it with a TRIAC/ELV dimmer, but the color temperature stays the same.
White or Orange
The sphere is clear either way. White gives a calm, neutral column; Orange adds a warmer, more playful accent.
How long can I hang it
Pablo lists 8 ft (244 cm) of cord and a maximum drop of 96 in (244 cm).
Who is it not for
Anyone who wants a plug-in lamp: it is hardwired. Pablo lists no damp or wet rating, so keep it in dry indoor spaces.
Is the inner column adjustable
No. The pendant’s column is fixed and hangs straight. For a column you can rotate, choose the Bel Occhio Table Lamp.
