Meet the Designer
Designed by
Peter Stathis
San Francisco designer Peter Stathis is fascinated by how everyday objects shape the way we live. His award-winning designs are held by MoMA, Cooper Hewitt and the Denver Art Museum, and he has been a Pablo collaborator since the original Tube Top in 2006.
The Design Story
Tube Top was designed for Pablo by Peter Stathis, founder of the San Francisco studio Virtual Studio. It steers away from conventional lamp construction: a transparent formed acrylic body holds an elegant mesh fabric shade in tension, so the shade seems to float, gently tethered by its fabric cord. Pablo Designs, founded by Pablo Pardo in San Francisco in 1993, offers Tube Top in classic neutrals and a run of bold colors.
Why You’ll Love It
It is clever and cheerful: the shade looks like it is hovering, the acrylic catches light, and the colors range from serene to joyful. A small lamp with real personality.
Made for Real Life
In-line dimming and a 6-foot cord.
