What is the idea behind the Bowman 4?

Sean Lavin designed it so that it is a crisp mid-century downlight that keeps the glare off the street. It belongs to Visual Comfort's Bowman family, which comes in several sizes and versions.

Which Bowman 4 finish suits my exterior?

Our take: black gives a crisp, graphic outline; bronze is rich and moody; white melts into a pale ceiling; charcoal is a softer alternative to black.

Will the Bowman 4 light up my front entry?

Easily: about 697 lumens lights a door, steps and house numbers.

Which doors and walls suit the Bowman 4?

At 4.5″ it is a small accent: side doors, gates, steps and garden walls, or several in a row.

Can the Bowman 4 handle storms and sprinklers?

Yes. It is wet listed (IP65), so it can live fully in the open, rain or shine.

Will I ever change a bulb in the Bowman 4?

No bulbs to change: the LED is built in and rated for 70,000 hours.

How is the Bowman 4 installed outside?

It is hardwired to an outdoor-rated junction box by an electrician.
