Lyndon 283 is a candelabra-style outdoor table lamp with a single transparent polycarbonate globe, newly introduced in 2025 as part of Oluce’s reissue of Vico Magistretti’s 1977 Lyndon design.
It comes in 2 finishes: Black and Ivory.
The Design Story
Oluce, founded in Milan in 1945, reissued Lyndon in 2025 as a small-scale outdoor collection of floor, wall and table lamps, true to Magistretti’s original 1977 vision. The signature candelabra-style structure stays the same: a minimalist metal stem supports four transparent polycarbonate globes, unified into a single globe in the table and wall versions.
The Designers
Vico Magistretti (1920 to 2006) was born and died in Milan. He earned his architecture degree in 1945 and joined his father’s firm. During the war he met Gio Ponti and Ernesto N. Rogers, and after the war he worked on reconstruction projects. His architecture includes the Torre al Parco and the Faculty of Biology in Milan, and he also designed furniture and lamps for companies such as Cassina, Artemide, De Padova, Fritz Hansen and Kartell. For Oluce he designed the Atollo, Lyndon, Pascal and Sonora lamps. He taught as a visiting professor at the Royal College of Art in London.

Lyndon 283 is made of a zinc-plated, lacquered metal structure with a single transparent polycarbonate globe, built for outdoor use on terraces, patios and in gardens. It takes 1 E12 bulb up to 10W.
