Nova Scalloped Flush Mount

Scalloped Flush Mount brings Nova of California design to the room as a flush mount ceiling light that sits right up against the ceiling, which is why it suits low rooms.

The light is 1500 lumens of 2700K warm light. It dims from a dimmer on the elv.

The Design Story

Nova opened in a Brooklyn factory in 1923 and now draws from Venice Beach, California. The line is what Nova calls California Modern: furniture-grade wood, metal and glass shaped into lamps meant to be lived with.

Why You’ll Love It

It reads as furniture, not hardware. Built from steel and linen, it has the weight a thin fixture lacks. It measures 8 in tall, 5 in wide, and 15 in deep, so the scale is easy to plan around. The light is warm and even: 1500 lumens of 2700K warm light, CRI 95+, so wood, fabric and skin tones look right. The single finish is chosen to sit with most palettes.

Made for Real Life

Day to day it is easy. It attaches to a standard ceiling junction box; a licensed electrician can hang it if you prefer. Dust it with a dry cloth, keep harsh cleaners away, and use a dimmable, flicker-free LED if you dim it, as Nova recommends.

LED vs. Incandescent

A bulb’s brightness is its lumen count, and its wattage is only the electricity it uses. Here that means 1500 lumens from a 14W LED, the same punch as an old 100W incandescent, without the heat. Incandescents read a touch warmer and softer, but they run hot and burn out faster. Switching later is easy: keep the same base, and choose a dimmable, flicker-free LED rated 2700K. Putting It Together

Expect to do a little final assembly when it arrives. The instructions are packed in the box; ask us if you want a look at them first.

Details and Dimensions

Where It Shines

It looks best in a hallway, in a bedroom or closet, or in a room with low headroom. It is not the right pick for anyone who wants a dramatic hanging fixture, since a flush mount hugs the ceiling by design.

Yes, a 1-year limited warranty. Nova covers defects in material or workmanship under normal use for 1 year when a lamp is bought through a retailer like us (its own website sells with 3 years). Nova decides whether to repair, replace or refund. Damage from pets, modification, use outside the U.S. and incandescent bulbs are excluded. Write to us first if anything arrives wrong.

Why We Love It

We keep coming back to Nova because the shapes are confident and the proportions are right for a modern room. It is a lamp with a point of view that still lets the furniture speak.
