The Design Story
An extension to the iconic Tolomeo family, Tolomeo suspension features the same arm balancing system as the Tolomeo table lamp adapted to a suspension mounting system. Available in double suspension or off-center versions, with or without shade, Tolomeo suspension offers a wide range of suspended lighting solutions.
Meet the Designers
Michele De Lucchi (born 1951 in Ferrara) is an Italian architect and designer and was a member of the Memphis group in the 1980s. With Giancarlo Fassina he designed the Tolomeo in 1987, which won the Compasso d'Oro in 1989 and grew into a whole family, from Micro to Mega.
Giancarlo Fassina is an Italian designer and a longtime Artemide collaborator. His technical precision was key to the Tolomeo, which he co-designed with Michele De Lucchi in 1987.
Famous on Screen
Look closely at M's desk in the James Bond film Skyfall (2012): that is a Tolomeo Basculante table lamp. Few lamps say "serious work happens here" quite like a Tolomeo.

Our Designer's Pick
✔ Designer's Pick◆ Design Icon🇮🇹 Made in ItalyDesigned by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina🎬 Seen in Skyfall (2012)✓ cULus listedDimmable5-year Artemide warranty
The Tolomeo is the lamp we recommend most often. It is endlessly adjustable, quietly beautiful in plain aluminum, and there is a version for almost every corner of a home.
Perfect for dining tables, kitchen islands, entries and open-plan living spaces.
Maybe not for anyone expecting a bulb in the box: the bulb versions take E26 bulb, 100W max or · 1×100W max and the bulb is not included.
Our pick: Aluminum, Bulb, E26 · 100W max. That version ships from Artemide in 2–4 weeks.
