ASHI Log Basket by kaschkasch for blomus — A black powder-coated steel firewood basket with a solid oak carry handle, about 17.7 inches tall.
Part of ASHI, the fireplace tools and log basket by kaschkasch for the German design house blomus.
The Design Story
kaschkasch gave the basket the same reed-like lines as the ASHI tools, so the whole hearth reads as one design. kaschkasch, the Cologne duo of Florian Kallus and Sebastian Schneider, named ASHI after the Japanese word for reed and shaped the oak handles like the swaying stems of reeds in shallow water.
Reed-like steel and warm oak: ASHI makes fireside tools beautiful enough to leave out all year.
Why You’ll Love It
Logs look organized, and the hearth looks finished.
Made for Real Life
Brush off ash and wipe the steel with a dry cloth; keep the oak dry and away from direct flame. Choose blackened oak for a graphic look or brown oak for warmth; both pair with black steel. Pairs well with the ASHI fireside tools, TEDDY pouf and UZU Zen garden rug.

Why We Love It
ASHI brings order and calm to the fireplace, with oak handles that feel good in the hand. From a small town in Germany’s old steel region, the Blome family has gone from bicycle parts (1921) to metal gifts (1961) to the design label blomus (2000), still family-run in its fourth generation. LoftModern is an authorized blomus retailer.
