The Design Story
kaschkasch shaped the oak handles after reeds, the meaning of the Japanese word ashi, and the slim rods after their hollow stems. kaschkasch, the Cologne duo of Florian Kallus and Sebastian Schneider, named ASHI after the Japanese word for reed and shaped the oak handles like the swaying stems of reeds in shallow water.
Reed-like steel and warm oak: ASHI makes fireside tools beautiful enough to leave out all year.
