The Design Story

ET2 describes a faceted K9 crystal bar with air bubbles inside, framed by sloped metal ends, that looks jewel-like when lit. The Gold is a plated Burnished Gold and the Black is a Matte Black rated for outdoors.

What is the difference between Gold and Black?

Gold is plated Burnished Gold and is rated Damp. Black is Matte Black and is rated Wet, so it is the version for outdoor use. Gold can be mounted vertically or horizontally, while the Black versions list vertical mounting.

How big is the Hyperion, and how far does it project?

Heights run from 5 in and widths run from 18 to 30 in, depending on the version. Projection from the wall is 3 in. The Choose Your Version table above lists each size.

How much light does the Hyperion give?

Delivered output in lumens is Black: 170 (18 in), 200 (24 in), 270 (30 in); Gold: 200 (18 in), 230 (24 in), 300 (30 in), with a color temperature of 3000K and CRI 90.

Which way can the Hyperion be mounted?

ET2 lists the mounting orientation as vertical on the Black versions and vertical or horizontal on the Gold versions. Confirm the orientation you want against the product details before you rough in the box.

Will my dimmer work with it?

Can the LED in the Hyperion be replaced?

The LED is integrated and ET2 does not list the board as replaceable, so plan on it as a permanent light source with a rated life of 30,000 hours.

Where can I install the Hyperion?

Location rating depends on the version: the Black versions are rated wet and the Gold versions are rated damp. Dry is for indoor dry rooms only, damp also suits covered or humid spaces away from direct water spray, and wet can take rain. ET2 lists it as ADA compliant. ET2 recommends a qualified electrician for the install.
