ET2 Penrose LED Open Frame Pendant Light

Penrose is an open frame of aluminum channel in Gold or Black, drawn like a cube whose corners do not quite meet. The 16 in version is a cube, and the 18 in version is a taller, slimmer frame.

It comes in 2 versions: 16 in and 18 in. Finishes: Black and Gold.

The Design Story

ET2 describes Penrose as a cubist work of art that studies the structure of a cube when its corners do not meet. A dedicated LED light source sits within the aluminum channels and casts light in various directions, so the form is lit along its lines.

The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to find or match. We suggest a dry microfiber cloth for the finish and no spray cleaners.

Which Penrose sizes and finishes are offered?

The 16 in cube comes in Gold. The 18 in frame comes in Black and in Gold.

How long is the cord on the Penrose, and can I set the hanging height?

Cord length is 120 in, which gives a maximum overall height of 138 in (16 in), 140 in (18 in). The shortest hang is 23 in (16 in), 25 in (18 in), so it can work over a low surface as well as in a taller space.

How much light does the Penrose give?

Delivered output is 1700 (16 in), 630 (18 in) lumens, with a color temperature of 3000K and CRI 90.

Will my dimmer work with it?

ET2 lists the dimming as Triac. Send us your dimmer model and we will help you confirm the match before you order.

Can the LED in the Penrose be replaced?

The LED is integrated and ET2 does not list the board as replaceable, so plan on it as a permanent light source with a rated life of 50,000 hours.

Where can I install the Penrose?

It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of bathrooms with a shower and out of covered patios. Ceiling slope is not listed, so plan for a flat ceiling. ET2 recommends a qualified electrician for the install.
