Abyss is a classic cone pendant with a surprise underneath. From the outside it looks like a familiar cone, but the light comes from the bottom perimeter, which leaves a dark, deep-looking interior.

It comes in 2 versions: 12.5 in and 15.75 in. Finishes: Black and Matte White.

The Design Story

ET2 describes Abyss as a classic cone that takes on a different personality from below. It is lit around the bottom perimeter, creating what ET2 calls a black abyss on the inside. It is offered in two sizes, 12.5 in and 15.75 in wide, each in Black or Matte White.

Why You’ll Love It

A cone is an easy shape to place, and this one gives you a second look when someone is under it. The ring of light at the rim shows off the edge of the shade and lets the inside stay dark. Black reads graphic against a light wall, and Matte White blends into a pale ceiling. Which Abyss size should I choose?

Abyss comes in two sizes: 12.5 in wide and 9.5 in tall (1330 lumens), and 15.75 in wide and 11.25 in tall (1600 lumens). Both are available in Black or Matte White.

How long is the cord on the Abyss, and can I set the hanging height?

Cord length is 120 in (12.5 in), 118 in (15.75 in), which gives a maximum overall height of 130.5 in (12.5 in), 136 in (15.75 in). The shortest hang is 13 in (12.5 in), 16 in (15.75 in), so it can work over a low surface as well as in a taller space.

How much light does the Abyss give?

Delivered output is 1330 (12.5 in), 1600 (15.75 in) lumens, with a color temperature of 3000K and CRI 80+ (12.5 in), 90+ (15.75 in).

Will my dimmer work with it?

ET2 lists the dimming as ELV. Send us your dimmer model and we will help you confirm the match before you order.

Can the LED in the Abyss be replaced?

The LED is integrated and ET2 does not list the board as replaceable, so plan on it as a permanent light source with a rated life of 50,000 hours.

Where can I install the Abyss?

It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of bathrooms with a shower and out of covered patios. The canopy suits sloped ceilings up to 90 degrees (12.5 in), 30 degrees (15.75 in). ET2 recommends a qualified electrician for the install.
