The Design Story
Topper is a Besa flush mount made from hand-blown glass: a multi-layered glass: two ring sections fused onto a flat white glass, with polished opal glossy glass on top and a clear or transparent smoke blown glass ring below. Besa’s signature is the glass. American designers work with European craftsmen, every shade is made by hand, and each one is inspected in Ohio before it leaves the factory, so the small variations you see are the mark of a handmade piece, not a flaw.

Is the Topper 12 bright enough for a kitchen?
Its built-in LED gives about 1500 lumens of warm 3000K light, good for bedrooms, baths and smaller kitchens.
What does the smoke ring look like on the Topper 12?
It is a transparent gray glass band under the glossy opal top: softer and moodier than clear, still letting light through.
Is the Topper 12 okay over a shower or on a porch?
It is damp rated for indoor rooms, so a steamy bathroom ceiling is fine; it is not meant for outdoor porches or spots that get sprayed directly.
What does the Topper 12 need for installation?
It needs a standard 4-inch octagonal ceiling box and an electrician; it is hardwired, not plug-in.
Is there a smaller Topper?
Yes, the Topper 8 measures 7.75" diameter x 3" H.
