The Design Story
Tao is about texture. Its radiused shape is deliberately simple, so the glass can speak: in Chalk, spiraling off-white strokes are worked into an opal cased glass, then the surface is satin-etched. Unlit it looks like spun silk; lit, the brushed pattern starts to shimmer. Besa’s signature is the glass. American designers work with European craftsmen, every shade is made by hand, and each one is inspected in Ohio before it leaves the factory, so the small variations you see are the mark of a handmade piece, not a flaw.
