The Design Story
Sola is a Besa ceiling light built around its glass. Opal Matte (soft white cased glass, satin-etched on the outside for a tranquil glow) or Marble (pressed glass with swirls of white through a semi-translucent frost, like faux alabaster). Besa’s signature is the glass: American designers work with European craftsmen, and each piece is inspected in Ohio before it leaves the factory.

How big is the Sola 16?
About 16 inches across and 4.75 inches deep.
Is the Sola 16 LED version dimmable?
Yes: the LED is CL dimmable and gives about 3000 lumens of warm 3000K light. The bulb version dims with a regular incandescent dimmer.
Does the Sola 16 Marble glass look grey when it is off?
It reads as a soft white with faint swirls in daylight; the marbling shows most clearly when the light is on.
Can the Sola 16 handle a steamy bathroom?
Yes. It is damp rated for indoor rooms, so bathroom and laundry ceilings are fine; it is not meant for outdoor porches or spots that get sprayed directly.
Do I ever change a bulb in the Sola 16 LED?
No: the LED is built in and rated for about 50,000 hours. The incandescent version takes standard A19 bulbs instead.
What does the Sola 16 need for installation?
A standard 4-inch octagonal ceiling box and an electrician: it is hardwired, not plug-in. The spec sheet is linked above.
