The Design Story
Riva is about color done properly. Each shade is cased, meaning built up in layers of glass, blown by hand using techniques passed down through generations, then etched to a smooth satin finish. The softly radiused shape is simple enough to suit almost any interior and lets the glass do the talking. Besa’s signature is the glass. American designers work with European craftsmen, every shade is made by hand, and each one is inspected in Ohio before it leaves the factory, so the small variations you see are the mark of a handmade piece, not a flaw.

What are the Riva 9 shade dimensions?
About 5.1 inches wide and 9 inches tall. Since each shade is blown by hand, small differences are normal.
Why does Riva glass glow so evenly?
It is cased, layered glass finished with a satin etch, so the bulb disappears and the color glows.
Can I mix Riva colors over one island?
Yes. Opal with Amber, or Cobalt with Opal, are easy combinations; keep the metal finish the same to tie them together.
