The Design Story
Thöming rounded the SONO bin into a soft, almost pebble-like shape and sank the lid into it, so it reads as an object rather than a trash can. Thöming, an industrial designer at Flöz Design in Germany, gave SONO no hard edge anywhere: every piece is a soft, pebble-like volume wrapped in a velvety matte coating.
Rounded shapes, a skin-soft matte surface and muted color, from light Micro Chip gray and creamy Moonbeam to taupe Satellite, charcoal Magnet, Tan, White and Black.

Clean with a damp cloth; do not soak, and avoid abrasive or acidic cleaners, which can damage the surface. The soft-touch coating gives SONO its velvety, matte feel, while the insides of the cups, tray and holders are glazed so they rinse clean.
