The Design Story
Oblique’s design is an expression of a sprouting plant. The oblique light head pushes up and stretches the vertical stem, just like a bean sprout. The 2 dimensions of the design render the piece nearly invisible from some angles, while providing solid support from others. The outer shell wraps around the lighting head to hold it in place.
Meet the Designer
Arik Levy: A multi-disciplinary Israeli artist and designer, Arik Levy’s Stab Light for Danese won a 2016 Red Dot design award. Based in Paris, Levy’s multi-media art work is represented by galleries world-wide.
Why You'll Love It
- High color rendering (90+ CRI) keeps paper, wood and skin tones true.
- Slightly downward angle projects light via a high-performance reflector.
- Body in aluminum. -Diffuser in frosted tempered glass. -Reflector in polycarbonate.
Made for Real Life
Perfect for bedside reading, hallways, living rooms and offices; anywhere floor and table space is tight. Good to know: an electrician should hardwire it.

We keep coming back to the Oblique Wall Light for true-to-life color (90+ CRI) and easy dimming. Designed by Arik Levy.
Perfect for bedside reading, hallways, living rooms and offices; anywhere floor and table space is tight.
Maybe not for renters or anyone without an electrician: it is hardwired to a junction box.
Our pick: White, for built-in LED, no bulbs needed and a warm-but-clear 3000K glow. That version ships from Artemide in 2–4 weeks.
