The Design Story
A hand-blown glass globe of light on a base and stem of polished chrome. Transparent yet created a softly diffused, dimmable light. A design statement, the Miconos fixture is designed to complement either modern or more traditional interiors. Its naked design perfected with polished precision makes it a conversation piece of contemporary art.
Meet the Designer
Ernesto Gismondi (1931–2020), an aeronautical engineer by training, founded Artemide in 1960 with Sergio Mazza and led it for six decades, turning it into one of the world's leading lighting companies. He also designed many Artemide lamps himself, and in 2018 he received a Compasso d'Oro career award.

Questions We Hear Most
Is a bulb included with the Miconos?
No. The bulb versions take E26 bulb, 150W max. A warm 2700K LED bulb gives the most natural glow (our advice).
When will my Miconos ship?
Standard delivery options ship in 2–4 weeks; Special order from Italy options ship in 10–16 weeks from Artemide's warehouse (see the part number table at the bottom). We email your confirmed ship date after you order. A gentle note on special orders: they are made in Italy just for you, so they can't be changed or cancelled once ordered. Message us anytime to confirm your choices first.
How do I dim or switch the Miconos?
Dimmable 2-wire, according to Artemide.
How much space does the Miconos need?
