Configured here with a white finish, 3000K light and up to 285 lumens. Artemide describes it this way: “The double-layer artistic glass diffuser is handmade using the mould-blowing craft technique followed by grinding, with the end result resembling the age-old Murano art of ‘battuto’ glass with its textured, beaten look.”

The Design Story
At once raw and highly finished, Meteorite is an expression of accessible beauty. In the tradition of Venetian battuto (beaten) glass, Pio and Tito Toso designed a special glass-blowing and grinding process allowing an “unfinished” textural feeling. The double-layered glass is frosted and mounted on a techno polymer and steel body (or aluminum stem for table with stem and floor versions).
Meet the Designer
Pio & Tito Toso: Italian brothers born in 1973 and 1971 respectively, Pio & Tito Toso love working with light and its endless variations. Their interest in combining both ancient and contemporary techniques of making and finishing glass, combined with cutting-edge energy-performance pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved in fixture design.
