TR7 Table Lamp by Tom Rossau — a twisting column of birch that glows on a sideboard like a lantern.
The closed shade hides both bulbs, so the light comes through the wood itself in a warm, honeyed glow.
The Design Story
The TR7 is one of Tom Rossau’s first designs. For the table version he reworked the stand in 2023 so the shade sits lower and closer to the furniture, giving it a more grounded, intimate presence. The studio began with an experiment: Tom Rossau pressed thin strips of wood into a cylinder to see how they would bend, and the harder he pressed, the more expressive the shape became. That experiment became the TR5 in 2005, and every lamp since has followed the same idea of flat material coaxed into sculpture, built by hand in Copenhagen.
Why You’ll Love It
It is tall enough to make a statement on a sideboard yet soft enough for a bedroom. Natural birch brings warmth to stone, concrete and painted surfaces alike.
Made for Real Life
At 26.8" tall and 9.8" wide it needs a generous surface; it takes two E26 bulbs and plugs into a standard outlet. It pairs beautifully with the TR7 Pendant, TR7 Floor Lamp and ST906 Table Lamp.
