Bauhaus-Era Wooden Christmas Ornaments, IC Design — They turn a tree, a branch or a window into a small Bauhaus exhibition.
An authorized IC Design edition of a 1929/30 design.
The Design Story
Somewhere in Cologne, an architect who shopped at the Bauhaus kept a box of tree decorations. Found decades later, they were traced to Johannes Gabriel and the years 1929–30, and their shapes recall Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet. For the school’s hundredth birthday IC Design had them turned and painted by hand again in the Black Forest.
Why You’ll Love It
They turn a tree, a branch or a window into a small Bauhaus exhibition. The shapes are simple and graphic, the wood is warm, and they look right in a modern room long after the holidays.
Made for Real Life
Between seasons, wrap them back in their box; for dust, a dry, soft cloth is all it needs. Pair it with Taeuber-Arp Dada Marionette Figures, King or Stag, Taeuber-Arp 1929 Wooden Candlestick, Antonio Vitali Maple Duck Pair.
