Apollo 180 Floor Lamp by Broberg & Ridderstråle — Apollo’s machined cones, drawn up into a slender column of light.
Tall, polished and minimal, it stands in a corner like a piece of sculpture.
The Design Story
Apollo 180 joined the collection in 2020, carrying the conical design from the pendants up to floor height. Broberg & Ridderstråle turned each Apollo from a solid piece of aluminum on a lathe. Two cones balance point to point like a spinning gyroscope, and when the designers saw the first silhouette, it reminded them of the rocket engines on the Apollo spacecraft, which settled the name.
Why You’ll Love It
It is one of the few floor lamps that looks as good switched off as on, and the machined finish rewards a close look.
Made for Real Life
Plug it in and use the foot dimmer on the 8.5 ft cord. A dimmable GU10 LED of about 350 lumens at 3000K is what Pholc recommends. It sits beautifully alongside the Apollo cone pendant, Apollo wall sconce and Apollo mini cone pendant.
