The Design Story

The material does the talking: chenille has a plush, tufted yarn that feels soft to the hand and velvet has a soft pile that catches the light. What mattress does the Parker Bed take?

Choose the size when you order: Queen (60" x 80") and King (76" x 80") mattresses (standard US sizes, our guide). No box spring is needed: TOV includes the slats. The slats sit 13" off the floor inside 16.5" side rails, so the mattress sits about 3.5" inside the rails: a 10–12" mattress shows about 6.5–8.5" above them (our guide).

How tall is the Parker Bed headboard, and is there room underneath?

The headboard stands 58.7" from the floor and rises about 45.7" above the slats, so most of it still shows above a 10–12" mattress. Underneath, the legs are 0.2" high and the slats sit 13" off the floor, which is the clearance for storage boxes or a robot vacuum (TOV). The headboard is padded (TOV), so it is comfortable to lean against for reading.
