The Design Story
Nyta began in Germany in 2012, when designer Fabian Maier and architects Johannes Marmon and Johannes Müller set out to make lights that are smart in use and quiet in form. The team still designs almost everything in-house and builds it in Europe, close to its partners. Tilt is the idea that put Nyta on the map: a shade that works as a reflector you can steer by hand. Among the honors Nyta lists are Chicago’s Good Design Award and the German Design Award, both in 2015.
Why You’ll Love It
Clusters usually mean a ceiling dotted with canopies. Multiple replaces them with one slim plate just 2.5 cm deep, in white or black, so the eye goes to the lights. It takes any Tilt-family pendant, so you can mix the big Tilt with the small Tilt Globe, or brass with matte, and re-aim every shade on its own.
Made for Real Life
Have an electrician fit it to the ceiling box and thread the pendants through. Lights are bought separately: browse the Tilt Large Adjustable Pendant by Nyta and the Tilt Globe Adjustable Pendant by Nyta. A soft dry cloth is all the care it asks for.

What can I hang from the Multiple canopy?
Any light and cord from Nyta’s Tilt family, the Tilt Large and Tilt Globe among them, as long as the cable measures 6–6.5 mm. Lights with a power supply unit won’t work.
Does the Multiple canopy come with lights?
It doesn’t; it is the ceiling piece only, so you pick the three or five pendants yourself.
What size is the Multiple canopy in centimetres?
Multiple 3 is 50 cm across and 2.5 cm deep (1.18 kg without lights); Multiple 5 is 74.9 cm across and 2.5 cm deep.
Is the Multiple canopy available in black?
The three-light version is, in matte black or matte white; the five-light version is matte white.
What makes the Multiple canopy look good over a table?
One slim plate replaces a scatter of canopies, so the ceiling stays calm while the pendants below do the talking. Stagger the heights and angles for movement.
