Dinner Plates, Set of 2 in Zig Zag White is Missoni at the table: the house's signature graphics, rendered in fine bone china.
A set of 2, Ø 10.83 in (27.5 cm).
The Design Story
Zig Zag White is the quiet side of Missoni's most famous motif. The chevron that made the house world-famous in the 1960s appears tone-on-tone, white on white, catching light instead of shouting colour. Missoni began in 1953 as Ottavio and Rosita Missoni's knitwear workshop, and its patterns have moved from fashion to the home ever since.
Why You'll Love It
The pattern does the decorating, so even a simple meal looks considered. Bone china is lighter and whiter than ordinary porcelain, which makes the colours read crisply. It mixes easily with plain whites or with other Missoni patterns. And it is designed in Italy by a house with seventy years of pattern behind it.
Made for Real Life
Made for main courses. It is listed as dishwasher safe, so it can be used every day.
Worth Every Penny
Brought out twice a week for ten years, $260 comes to about $0.25 per use (our math), for pieces that stay in the family.
