Rice Bowls, Set of 2 in Nastri Bordeaux is Missoni at the table: the house's signature graphics, rendered in fine bone china.
A set of 2, Ø 4.4 x H 2.4 in (11.3 x 6 cm).
The Design Story
Nastri is Missoni's ribbon pattern. Coloured bands loop and cross over white bone china in a mix the house describes as harmony, classicism and elegance, using blue, bordeaux, purple, beige, green and orange. Missoni began in 1953 as Ottavio and Rosita Missoni's knitwear workshop, and its patterns have moved from fashion to the home ever since.
Why You'll Love It
The pattern does the decorating, so even a simple meal looks considered. Bone china is lighter and whiter than ordinary porcelain, which makes the colours read crisply. It mixes easily with plain whites or with other Missoni patterns. And it is designed in Italy by a house with seventy years of pattern behind it.
Made for Real Life
Made for rice, dips or small sides. It is listed as dishwasher safe, so it can be used every day.
Worth Every Penny
Brought out twice a week for ten years, $210 comes to about $0.2 per use (our math), for pieces that stay in the family.

How do I look after the Nastri Bordeaux rice bowls?
The distributor lists it as dishwasher safe. Use a gentle cycle, skip abrasive pads, and avoid sudden temperature changes (our advice). Bone china is light but it is still porcelain: stack with care.

No gift box is listed by the distributor; it ships in protective packaging, and we are happy to include a gift note.
What should I pair the Nastri Bordeaux rice bowls with?
Other pieces from Missoni's Nastri line in the Bordeaux colourway, or plain white tableware if you want the pattern to stand out.
How big is the Nastri Bordeaux rice bowls, exactly?
Ø 4.4 x H 2.4 in (11.3 x 6 cm).
Is the Nastri Bordeaux rice bowls really bone china?
Yes. Missoni lists its porcelain tableware as 50% bone ash and 50% porcelain, which is what makes bone china lighter and whiter than standard porcelain.
Why We Love It
Missoni turned a knit stitch into one of design's most recognisable signatures. Bringing it to the table is the simplest way to live with it every day.
