Innermost Stupa Pendant Light

Winner of Good Design Award 2015 for Lighting

Designed by Freshwest, the form was inspired by temple architecture in Asia, particularly the stupas of Myanmar. Stupa white is supplied with white braided cable, while Stupa yellow is supplied with red braided cable, both include white ceiling canopy.

Cast from resin, the individual pieces that make up Stupa are joined and hand finished individually on a lathe, then polished with beeswax.

This combination of a mass production process with a high value hand skilled element makes for wonderful and interesting lighting; in this instance, the result is a lamp that permeates an ambient glowing warmth while still providing a practical light level.
