Artemide Tolomeo Mega Suspension transforms the iconic Tolomeo design into a large-scale suspended light with a softer, more architectural presence. Designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina, the collection combines an aluminum suspension structure with a choice of parchment, pale grey fiber or black fabric diffusers in two sizes.
Available with approximately 17-inch or 21-inch shades, the Tolomeo Mega Suspension works beautifully above dining tables, kitchen islands, conference tables and other spaces where a substantial pendant is desired without the visual weight of a solid metal shade. The translucent parchment and fiber options provide a softer appearance, while the black fabric diffuser creates a stronger graphic contrast.
All six North American configurations use a replaceable E26/A19 bulb up to 150W at 120V. The fixture supports 2-wire dimming with a suitable dimmable bulb and compatible control, allowing you to choose an LED bulb with the brightness and color temperature best suited to the room.
Choose Your Tolomeo Mega Suspension
17-Inch Diffuser: Available as TLM1008 with Black fabric, TLM1001 with Fiber / pale grey satin, or TLM1000 with Parchment.
21-Inch Diffuser: Available as TLM1010 with Black fabric, TLM1005 with Fiber / pale grey satin, or TLM1004 with Parchment.
Why Choose the Tolomeo Mega Suspension?
- Two shade sizes: Choose between approximately 17-inch and 21-inch diffusers to suit the scale of your room and furniture.
- Three diffuser finishes: Available in Parchment, Fiber / pale grey satin and Black fabric.
- Replaceable E26 bulb: Select a compatible A19 LED bulb with the brightness and color temperature appropriate for your space.
- 2-wire dimming: Adjust light output with a compatible dimmable bulb and wall control.
- Generous suspension: The fixture can extend to approximately 78.75 inches from the ceiling for use in rooms with a range of ceiling heights.
- Italian design: Designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina as part of Artemide's iconic Tolomeo family.
17-Inch or 21-Inch Diffuser?
The 17-inch versions provide the more compact proportions of the two sizes and work well where the fixture needs visual presence without overwhelming the furniture below. The shade measures approximately 16.5 inches in diameter and 11.4 inches high.
The larger 21-inch versions increase the diffuser to approximately 20.5 inches in diameter and 14.1 inches high, creating a stronger visual anchor over larger dining tables, conference tables and open spaces. Both sizes use the same E26/A19 replaceable-bulb platform.
Diffuser Options
Parchment gives the Tolomeo Mega its classic warm, softly diffused appearance. Fiber / pale grey satin provides a cooler neutral character that pairs naturally with the aluminum structure. Black fabric creates the strongest contrast and a more graphic contemporary appearance.
The structure is made from aluminum and injection-molded polycarbonate, with stainless-steel suspension cables and an aluminum ceiling mounting plate. The fixture mounts to a standard electrical junction box.
