Artemide Tolomeo Classic Table Lamp | Adjustable Desk Lamp | LoftModern

Artemide Tolomeo Classic Adjustable Table Lamp by Michele De Lucchi & Giancarlo Fassina is an icon of modern Italian task lighting, combining an ingenious spring-balanced arm system with a lightweight aluminum structure and precise adjustability. Originally designed in 1987, Tolomeo has become a recognizable choice for desks, home offices, studios, bedside workspaces and professional interiors.

The fully articulated arms can be repositioned smoothly to direct light exactly where it is needed. An adjustable aluminum diffuser provides further control at the lamp head, while the weighted steel base keeps the lamp stable throughout its extensive range of movement.

This Classic version uses a replaceable E26 medium-base A19 bulb rather than an integrated LED module, allowing you to select a compatible LED bulb according to your preferred brightness and color temperature. An on/off switch incorporated at the lamp head keeps operation conveniently within reach.

Why Choose the Tolomeo Classic Table Lamp?

• Iconic 1987 design: Created by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina as part of Artemide's celebrated Tolomeo collection.
• Fully articulated arms: Reposition the lamp easily for reading, writing, drawing and focused desk work.
• Adjustable diffuser: Aim the shade independently for more precise control over the direction of light.
• Replaceable E26 bulb: Choose a compatible A19 LED bulb to customize brightness and color temperature.
• On-head switch: Convenient on/off control is located directly at the lamp head.
• Weighted 9-inch base: Provides stability while maintaining a relatively compact footprint on the desk or table.

Engineered for Precise Adjustment

The defining feature of the Tolomeo Classic is its articulated balancing system. Extruded-aluminum arms are connected through polished die-cast aluminum joints and tension-control components, while stainless-steel tension cables help maintain the selected position.

This mechanical system allows the lamp to move through a generous working range without the bulk of a conventional rigid desk lamp. The diffuser can also be repositioned independently, making it easy to bring focused light closer to documents, books, drawings or a computer workspace.

Replaceable Bulb or Integrated LED?

This Tolomeo Classic Table Lamp is the replaceable-bulb version. It uses a standard E26 medium-base A19 lamp and does not contain a permanently integrated LED module. That gives you flexibility to choose a compatible LED bulb with the brightness and color temperature that best suits your space.

Artemide also produces a separate Tolomeo Classic LED Table Lamp with an integrated 10W LED, 3000K light, dimming and a specified delivered output. Customers looking for those features should choose the integrated-LED model rather than this Classic E26 version.
