They settled on a section of three arches, one for each finger that holds it, and had wooden prototypes made in the workshop of Pier Luigi Ghianda. The shape was too complex for the production methods of the day and stayed in the Castiglioni archive for twenty years, until the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni and Cavaglià trusted the drawings to EGOUNDESIGN, a young studio in Bologna that solved it with 3D printing.
