teukho-lambda-fossil-wood-lamp-black-brown
Lambda by Teukho – Black/Brown Fossil Wood LED Lamp

Lambda is light drawn as a wave: one smooth curve of two-tone black and brown fossil oak, lit from within by a warm LED line.

Designed by Luca Degano for teúkhō and handcrafted in Italy from wood that is between 7,000 and 8,000 years old.

The Design Story

Teúkhō began with the Garzitto family, a historic timber name in Friuli. Their material is fossil oak: trunks that fell into rivers thousands of years ago and slowly mineralized under sand and gravel, becoming harder and darker without turning to stone. Degano shaped that ancient wood into the purest form he could think of, the sinusoid, because light itself travels as a wave.

Why You'll Love It

The contrast is the magic: ancient, deeply grained wood against a clean ribbon of modern light. The glow is a warm 3000K, soft enough for evening and diffused along the whole curve rather than glaring from a bulb. A touch switch dims it, so the lamp becomes part of how a room feels, not just how bright it is. And because every fossil log is different, the piece on your desk is the only one exactly like it.

Made for Real Life

At 46 x 28 x 10 cm (18.11 x 11.02 x 3.94 in), Lambda sits easily on a desk, sideboard or console. The 12 V LED runs from the included power unit, which accepts 100–240 V. Think of it as sculpture and mood light rather than a reading lamp.
