A cylinder of vertically ribbed glass sits between a metal cap and base, topped with an arched carry handle, and it stands 11 inches tall. It charges over USB C, so it can move from the dinner table to the porch step without looking for an outlet.

It lasts up to 12 to 14 hours on a full battery and dims in three steps with a touch. Tawa borrows the silhouette of a hurricane lantern and rebuilds it with a modern light source inside. The fluted glass breaks the LED into fine vertical lines of light, and the handle tells you at a glance that this lamp is meant to be picked up and carried. Visual Comfort describes the result as vintage character with a contemporary build.

Why You'll Love It

Tawa is the lamp you carry to wherever the evening is. Hang a hand through the handle and bring it from the kitchen island to the deck, then set it back on a shelf when guests leave. The ribbed glass softens the glow and throws a gentle pattern of stripes onto nearby surfaces. A touch on the cap steps through bright, soft and low, and the 2700K light at 90 CRI keeps skin tones and table settings looking natural. A six-foot USB C cable and a wall charger come in the box, with a black cable for the Black and Bronze finishes and a white one for Matte White.

Made for Real Life

The body is solid brass with a glass shade, and at 5 lbs it has enough heft to stay put on a breezy table while still being easy to carry.
