It leaves room for the rest of your table to speak. Roberto Cavalli opened his house in Florence in 1970, made animal print his signature, and in 2012 took it home with the launch of Roberto Cavalli Home at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Why You'll Love It

The design does the decorating, so even a simple coffee looks considered. Bone china is lighter and whiter than ordinary porcelain, which makes the print read crisply. The gold detailing catches candlelight beautifully. It mixes easily with plain whites or with other Cavalli patterns. And it carries the name of one of Italy's boldest fashion houses.

Made for Real Life

Made for roasts, fish, antipasti or pastries. The distributor doesn't publish care instructions. We recommend washing by hand in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge, no abrasive pads, and no microwave (the gold decoration). Avoid sudden temperature changes and stack with a cloth between pieces (our advice).

Worth Every Penny

Brought out twice a week for ten years, $780 comes to about $0.75 per use (our math).

Product Details

Maker

Roberto Cavalli Home

Pattern

Silk Gold

Object

Oval Dish

In the box

1

Size

14.17 in (36 cm) across

Made of

Fine bone china

Finish detail

Gold decoration

Dishwasher safe

Not stated by the distributor; we recommend hand washing (our advice)

Microwave safe

No: the decoration includes gold, and metallic decoration and microwaves don't mix (our advice)

Presentation

Not listed by the distributor

Shipping weight

Not published by the distributor

Country of manufacture

South Korea (per Roberto Cavalli Home retailer listings; designed in Italy)

Cavalli item no.
