ship-hold-six-bulb-cluster
Cargo Cluster Wall/Ceiling Light with Guard by Original BTC

Original BTC Cargo Cluster Wall/Ceiling Light with Guard is a wall/ceiling light and made in England by the Oxfordshire lighting house founded by Peter Bowles in 1990.

Wired for North America (120V AC).

The Design Story

Cargo clusters once lit the holds of ships while they were loaded; this galvanised, guarded version brings that working light inside. Davey Lighting began in the shipyards of nineteenth-century London; Original BTC took it on in 2010 to keep it making by hand in England, using techniques some of which date back to London’s East India Docks in the 1880s.

Why You’ll Love It

It is raw, bright and unapologetically industrial. These are working lights with a past: honest materials, real ratings for weather, and finishes that look better with age.

Made for Real Life

It fixes straight to a wall or ceiling, wired in by an electrician, with the chain length set to your space. Wipe it down with a soft cloth and skip the metal polish: weathered, raw and galvanised finishes are meant to look lived-in. Near the sea, rinse off salt now and then with fresh water.

Product Details

Product

Cargo Cluster Wall/Ceiling Light with Guard

Maker

Original BTC, Oxfordshire, England

Light type

Wall/ceiling light

Made from

Steel and aluminium, all galvanised

Size

Ø 37 × H 32 cm (Ø 14.7" × H 12.5")

Hanging drop

16.5" to 71" (42 to 180 cm)

Weight

5.6 kg (12.3 lb)

Bulb / light

E26 × 6 socket, max 100W

Voltage

120V AC

Where it can go

IP rating not published; indoor use

Country of origin

United Kingdom

Original BTC item no.

BT-DP7242/GA/6E26/BRKT

Where It Shines

It looks at home in a loft kitchen, a workshop or a garage with character.

Questions We Hear Most

What sets the Cargo Cluster Wall/Ceiling Light with Guard apart?

Three things: galvanised steel and aluminium; protective galvanised guard; six lamp holders for high light output.

What are the Cargo Cluster Wall/Ceiling Light with Guard’s measurements?

Ø 14.7" × H 12.5" (Ø 37 × H 32 cm).
