What was left were elementary solids, each one standing for a rank, plus one playful exception: a knight curled like the head of a violin. IC Design remakes them under license from the Man Ray Trust.

Why You’ll Love It

These are pieces you leave out on purpose. Each one is a simple, satisfying shape in your hand, and the set reads as a small modernist sculpture between games. The felt pads keep them quiet on the board.

Made for Real Life

Looking after it is simple: a soft cloth now and then, no water, and a spot out of strong sunlight.
