loci-rain-chandelier
Loci Rain LED Chandelier by Graypants, 24 or 36 Lights

Loci Rain turns a ceiling into a composition. Instead of one large shade, it spreads dozens of small LED light points through the room, each at a precise position, so the fixture reads as a sculptural cloud of light above a dining table, kitchen island or stairwell landing. It comes as Rain 24 (24 light sources) or Rain 36 (36 light sources), each with a black or white canopy.

Graypants builds Loci as a system, not a single lamp, and every Rain chandelier is made to order for you. That is how a studio-grade, architect-designed piece stays within reach of a home project while being built for long service.

The Design Story

Loci began as an idea from architects. Graypants was founded in Seattle by Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, and works today from studios in Seattle and Amsterdam. The collection takes its name from the mathematical term "loci," a set of points that together form a shape. Rain applies that idea literally: light points placed in exact positions so that the whole reads as one form.

Because Loci is modular, the same components scale from a residence to a hotel lobby. The system has been installed at Seattle venues such as Lucille and the Skyview Observatory, and in a custom lobby installation for Crowne Plaza Budapest. Rain brings that architectural thinking down to a single, ready-to-order chandelier.

Why You'll Love It

Rain suits rooms where you want a glow that feels architectural rather than decorative: a long dining table, an open kitchen, a double-height entry. Graypants photographs Rain 24 in a kitchen and Rain 36 over a dining table, which is a fair guide to where each looks best. Rain 24 is the more compact grouping, while Rain 36 carries a fuller canopy of light for larger tables and rooms.

The LED light sources are included, run at 2700K warm white with a CRI of 90, and dim smoothly with 0-10V, TRIAC or ELV dimmers. There are no bulbs to buy, and the fixture accepts 120 to 277V.

Made for Real Life

Hang Rain over a dining table or kitchen island, or let it fill a quiet entry. It is rated for dry locations, so keep it in indoor rooms, and plan to have a licensed electrician wire it with the power off. The LED sources are built in, so there is nothing to re-lamp; a dry duster or compressed air keeps it clean.

Product Details

Designer

Graypants Studio

Collection

Loci, a modular LED lighting system

Rain 24 light sources

24 LED sources, 1.5W G4 LED per globe, 45W total fixture power

Rain 36 light sources

36 LED sources, 0.4W integrated LED per light (replaceable)

Size

Rain 24: L23 x W23 x H48 in (58 x 58 x 122 cm); Rain 36: L43.25 x W5.25 x H48 in (110 x 13 x 122 cm).
