You notice it when the light hits it, and when you pick it up. Roberto Cavalli opened his house in Florence in 1970, made animal print his signature, and in 2012 took it home with the launch of Roberto Cavalli Home at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Why You'll Love It

The design does the decorating, so even a simple coffee looks considered. Bone china is lighter and whiter than ordinary porcelain, which makes the print read crisply. The platinum detailing catches candlelight beautifully. It mixes easily with plain whites or with other Cavalli patterns. The branded box makes it an effortless, impressive gift. And it carries the name of one of Italy's boldest fashion houses.

Made for Real Life

Made for everyday coffee, tea or hot chocolate. The distributor doesn't publish care instructions. We recommend washing by hand in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge, no abrasive pads, and no microwave (the platinum decoration). Avoid sudden temperature changes and stack with a cloth between pieces (our advice).

Worth Every Penny

Used every day for five years, $160 comes to about $0.09 per cup of coffee (our math).

Product Details

Maker

Roberto Cavalli Home

Pattern

Lizard Platinum

Object

Mug

In the box

1

Size

Ø 2.5 × H 3.3 in (Ø 6.4 × H 8.4 cm)

Holds

12.5 fl oz (370 ml)

Made of

Bone china

Finish detail

Platinum decoration

Dishwasher safe

Not stated by the distributor; we recommend hand washing (our advice)

Microwave safe

No: the decoration includes platinum, and metallic decoration and microwaves don't mix (our advice)

Presentation

Presented in a Roberto Cavalli luxury box

Shipping weight

Not published by the distributor

Country of manufacture

South Korea (per Roberto Cavalli Home retailer listings; designed in Italy)

Cavalli item no.
