Davey Lighting began in the shipyards of nineteenth-century London; Original BTC took it on in 2010 to keep it making by hand in England, using techniques some of which date back to London’s East India Docks in the 1880s.

Why You’ll Love It

It looks just as right over a kitchen island as under a porch roof. These are working lights with a past: honest materials, real ratings for weather, and finishes that look better with age.

Made for Real Life

It is hardwired by an electrician, and its rating means a covered porch is as good a home as the kitchen. Wipe it down with a soft cloth and skip the metal polish: weathered, raw and galvanised finishes are meant to look lived-in. Near the sea, rinse off salt now and then with fresh water.

Product Details

Product

Ship’s Well Glass Pendant with Visor

Maker

Original BTC, Oxfordshire, England

Light type

Pendant light

Made from

Glass, brass (clear glass)

Size

Ø 23 × H 36 cm (Ø 9.1" × H 14.2")

Hanging drop

19.7" to 72.8" (50 to 185 cm)

Weight

1.6 kg (3.5 lb)

Bulb / light

E26 socket, max 60W

Dims

Yes

Voltage

120V AC

Where it can go

IP44; suitable for outdoor, indoor

Country of origin

United Kingdom

Original BTC item no.

BT-DP7523/PE/BR/WE/CL

Where It Shines

It looks at home under a porch roof, over a kitchen island or in a steamy bathroom.
