Wired for North America (120V AC).

The Design Story

The Cobb starts from a humble source, the lamp a Dutch cobbler hung over his bench, and turns it into something refined: a wide, shallow shade cast in bone china, hung on braided cotton cable. Every bone china piece is cast in Original BTC’s own Stoke-on-Trent factory, a multi-day process of pouring, drying, hand finishing and firing that gives the material its glow.

Why You’ll Love It

The broad shade throws a generous pool of light onto the table, while the china edge glows gently around it. Bone china is the signature of Original BTC: founder Peter Bowles was the first designer to use it for lighting, and it turns a lamp into a soft, translucent source of light.

Made for Real Life

An electrician connects it to a ceiling box. You choose the drop at installation. Switch it off, then dust it with a soft cloth or wipe with plain water and dry it well. Treat the shade like fine china, because it is.

Product Details

Product

Cobb Large Pendant

Maker

Original BTC, Oxfordshire, England

Light type

Pendant light

Made from

Bone China

Size

Ø 35 × H 16 cm (Ø 13.8" × H 6.3")

Hanging drop

14.2" to 59.5" (36 to 151 cm)

Weight

2 kg (4.4 lb)

Bulb / light

Socket type for the US version not published by the distributor

Dims

Yes

Voltage

120V AC

Where it can go

IP20; suitable for indoor

Country of origin

United Kingdom

Original BTC item no.

BT-FP350NP

Price

$815

Where It Shines

It looks at home over a dining table, in a row above a kitchen island, in a stairwell or beside the bed.
